The New Frontier...

Welcome to my official "professional" blog.

It's weird saying that, because I don't expect I'll write with any more difference to my style to make this blog any more professional than my other 649 blogs. But, it's a way to separate my knitting from my personal from my...other activities, so. Here we are.

My profession, musician, is frivolous to most. But what I think people fail to understand is that people like myself do not CHOOSE to risk their livelihood, health and other necessities in life; to commit themselves to something that most believe will fail, easily. In my case, after earning high marks and graduating Summa Cum Laude from a music school, I had just about enough of studying and vowed to take a break and stated to the Universe with all of my passion for a respite from music behind it, "I just want to be a secretary for a while!"

*POOF*

Voila! Secretary for 15 freakin' years. Benefits! Money! Independence! Woohoo! All the things in life that every American strives for! Yay! I'm just like everybody else! Who could ask for anything more?? It wasn't until my last gig as secretary, after 3 separate 5 year stints as an organizer of other people's shit, did my soul finally wake up and scream " WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING BEHIND A DESK???" My soul cusses like a sailor. Anyway, my soul had had enough of the lies that I had accepted as fact and straight up said NO. MORE!

The passion behind this choice, this life choice, is a call. It is a call that is in every single one of us. But are you listening to yours? That is the question. Mine is music. I have put my trust in it and it will not fail me. Music has not failed me. And it cannot.
